Tim Lopez and Jenna Reeves Wedding on July 4th!
We are over-the-moon excited to finally share some of the gorgeous photos that we just got back from JKoe Photography of Tim Lopez and Jenna Reeves Wedding! As many of you know Tim Lopez is Colette’s son and Kaitlin’s brother so this was a very special time for our family and we were honored to help plan and design their special day.
The Plain White T’s Tim Lopez tied the knot with his fiancé Jenna Reeves in front of an intimate gathering of family and friends at the Historical Museum in Santa Barbara on July 4th, 2015. The pair met on NBC’s reality dating show Ready For Love, where Tim knew Jenna was “the one” from the very beginning! Planning their wedding began with only one trip to Santa Barbara to tour the venue and pick out the specialty rentals from Town and Country Event Rentals. The rest of the planning was done with visuals, diagrams and phone calls with Colette & Kaitlin of La Fete Weddings!
Tim shared in an interview with People Magazine that “Jenna was no bridezilla while planning the wedding, and that extended to her dress selection. “I actually got my dress at Lunss,” she says. “I looked at a few boutique shops and found nothing that felt right. When I tried this one on, I had that moment where I looked in the mirror and saw a bride. The dress was relatively inexpensive as far as wedding dresses go but I wasn’t concerned with brand names, I just wanted to feel comfortable and beautiful when walking down the aisle toward him.” Tim also mentioned “Jenna and I didn’t want to abandon who we are when it came to the style and attire for our wedding — hence I wasn’t going to be caught dead in a tuxedo!”
The ceremony was designed to fit the old Spanish style of the Historical Museum which already has a little bit of a Texas flair. We decorated the aisle with a combination of large blue agave plants & oversized rustic star lanterns. Then the existing arbor was embellished with a natural linen fabric and then adorned with fresh green garlands and white flowers by Cody Floral Designs– The look was simple and made an absolutely stunning backdrop for the two of the them!
The couple decided to keep their special day low-key by bringing a little bit of Austin, Texas home to our native Santa Barbara. We brought in the Rasta Taco Cart along with Georgia’s Smokehouse (a local food truck) to add a “hipster element” to the “Tex meets West” theme. The evening consisted of a free-floating party with lounge vignettes, dining tables, and who could forget- an enormous teepee. Guests were invited into the space and able to eat when they felt hungry, visit the bar when they were thirsty, and dance to the fantastic music of Stew in the Crew when they wanted. This created a relaxed atmosphere that didn’t feel to “structured or scheduled.” The overall design wasn’t all about the flowers but more about the overall feeling that Tim & Jenna wanted to create within the courtyard at the Historical Museum.
The lounge vignettes and tables were adorned with garlands of greenery and a more “hand-picked” organic looking flowers were placed on the tables with a touch of blue thisle- which Jenna loved!
The only elements that incorporated the Fourth of July were the large rustic star lanterns that lined both sides of the aisle and a large vintage American flag that Tim brought from their home in Texas which was used in some of their wedding portraits! The little flower girl, Keilani also carried around a small American flag that day for her photos but during the ceremony she dropped petals out of a small flower basket!
As the newlyweds entered the courtyard they were announced as “Mr. & Mrs. Tim and Jenna Lopez” and they worked their way to the center of the dance floor to share their first dance together to “Baby I’m Yours” by The Arctic Monkeys.
We surprised Jenna by having our dear friend Calligraphy Katrina decorate the top of the cake table by re-creating the wedding invitations that Jenna had designed herself. The table turned out so gorgeous and really carried the theme throughout the event! As you can see, Jenna was thrilled and the cake from Christine Dahl tasted just as amazing as it looked!
When we were headed over to watch Tim & Jenna cut the cake when we were all happily surprised that we could see the fireworks from the wedding venue!! Jason from Jkoe Photography captured some of the most gorgeous images of the two of them with the fireworks going off in the distance!
