Soft Pastel Wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Soft Pastel Wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch

We could not imagine a more beautiful color palette for a summertime wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch. Super soft shades of blue, pink, lavender, green and ivory absolutely shine at this lush garden venue.

Jessie & Juan celebrated their wedding day amongst 50 of their closest friends & family members. The couple exchanged their vows in the ceremony garden and then dined alfresco on the Hydrangea Patio and danced the night away to their favorite songs.

Each place-setting was carefully curated with layers of mixed white china from Pretty Vintage Rentals and topped with a menu that had each guests name written at the top with soft blue calligraphy. CocoRose Florals finished the look by tying delicate stems of lavender & sweet peas to each of the fresh white napkins with a raw silk ribbon.

This spectacular wedding was held on a warm day in October, and as the sun began to set the San Ysidro Ranch warmed up the guests with bowls of their signature Tortilla Soup. The candlelit dinner continued, followed by an organic baby greens salad & then the choice of Filet of Beef or Pan Roasted King Salmon. Toasts were shared throughout the evening as guests celebrated the newlyweds under the twinkle lights and stars.

One of our favorite moments of the evening is when Jessie surprised her parents by playing their wedding song right after the cake cutting. Her parents were so touched and as the two of them danced together, reminiscing about their own wedding day! There wasn’t a dry eye in the room & each guest could truly feel the love shared within this family.

Weddings like these don’t just magically happen! We could not do our job without the help of an incredible team of professionals. Here is the list of vendors who made this dreamy wedding day come to life:

Lavender Wedding at Crossroads 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Lavender Wedding at Crossroads

Lauren and Kasey attended a wedding that we had designed for their good friends Missy & Josh (view their wedding here!) and once we got to know them, we knew they were going to be a lot of fun to work with! With spring in the air and fresh wildflowers all around us- we are looking back at this beautiful lavender wedding at Crossroads estate.

Lauren chose a stunning lace embellished gown with a striking low cut back and carried a fresh loose bouquet of garden roses, wispy greenery, and accents of lavender. Her bridesmaids donned long flowing lavender chiffon dresses and carried smaller versions of the brides bouquet!

When designing the ceremony space for their wedding, we did not want to take attention away from the enormous oak tree that stands tall in the background. Laura of Cody Floral Design brought in eight large ferns which we used to line down the aisle, then mixed in some of our large vintage lanterns to add height & variety. Later, we repurposed the ferns & lanterns along the band’s stage to soften the space!

Inside the barn at Crossroads we brought in a combination of round and long dining tables; some with exposed wood which were more Edison Style. Then we introduced a gorgeous embellished white linen overlay which we used for the cake & head table. Each of the wood tables featured lush arrangements of garden roses, ranunculus, dahlias, and wild greenery which spilled out of the arrangements and over the table’s edges.

We layered stacks of ornate white china at each place setting & finished the look with lovely cut crystal glassware from Town & Country!  We hope you enjoyed this post about Lauren & Kasey’s lavender wedding at Crossroads. We are excited to be working at Crossroads again this September and bringing even more beauty into that space!

Paperless Post Designs We Love 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Paperless Post Designs We Love

By now I am sure that most of you are familiar with Paperless Post and have received some form of online invitation from their site before. But, did you know that they offer a huge selection of their designs in paper now?  Not only is their wide selection of wedding invitations both beautiful & sophisticated, they have also partnered with brilliant designers such as Oscar De La Renta, Vera Wang, Kate Spade, Rifle Paper Co. and so many more! So, we were absolutely delighted when Paperless Post reached out to us to share some of our personal favorite wedding invitations that they offer in both online and in print form.

When we begin planning a wedding with our clients we always mention that the Save-the-Dates and the invitations are your guests FIRST impression of the wedding day. This is the beginning of your brand and your paper products should convey the overall feeling & theme of your wedding celebration. Therefore, we thought it would be fun to match up some of our favorite Paperless Post invitation suites with some of our “Real Wedding” designs from the past few years to give a little bit of life to each of these invitation suites and show how you can carry your theme from start to finish!!

We wanted to start with Paperless Post’s “Tulum Invitation” in the colors: Ivory with Apricot! The way that the ‘papel picado’ flags delicately fly over the top of the main invitation page & is then carried through to the response card reminded us of our Spanish Colonial wedding we designed in the Summer of 2013. We created a giant “U” shaped tent structure which was fabric draped in a deep ivory/maize colored silk. Then we strung bulb lighting and personalized ‘papel picado’ flags over the dance floor. The contrast of beautiful bright pops of color within the centerpieces added the perfect Spanish flair to the evening.

Coming up next we have the “Silk Brocade II” Invitation in Gold Foil designed by Oscar De La Renta. When I first saw this pattern it instantly reminded me of our bride Katharine’s wedding dress from this past August 2015. She wore the “Alchemy” gown from Clair Pettibone and the gold lace over soft ivory silk looked drop dead gorgeous on her!

Often times we will wait until our bride choses her wedding gown to get started on the design of her wedding. There is so much inspiration that can be pulled from the bride’s personal  style and this is the perfect example of how you can introduce a theme with your save the date or invitation and then watch it come to life on your wedding day when you arrive in a stunning gold lace gown. Here are a few images below of Katharine & PJ’s  gorgeous Taupe, White, and Gold wedding reception that was held at the Montecito Country Club.

We are particularly fond of the next invitation design because we were actually able to use it this year! The “Plume” Invitation in Ivory with Gold Foil was chosen by our bride Katie this year. She customized her invitations and then incorporated the same “Plume” design into her wedding menus & place cards! The end result was absolutely stunning!

And last but certainly not least, we are wrapping up with the “Ikebana Invitations” in Red. We just loved the hand-painted/watercolor effect of this suite along with the mix of fonts! This design reminded me of a wedding we did at the Santa Barbara Polo Fields this past June 2015. We built a large tent over the reception and then draped the interior with lush lemon leaf garlands and large bulb string lighting. The tables were all dressed in a variety of ivory patterned table linens and then topped with rich colorful flowers that really packed a punch!
