A Cheery + Colorful Wedding Celebration at the San Ysidro Ranch

There is nothing like a  colorful wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch to help get you through your Wednesday! We were beyond thrilled to help the FABULOUS Laura of Cody Floral Design plan her own stunning and intimate wedding celebration. As  a local wedding professional, Laura arranges some of the most glamorous floral arrangements that Santa Barbara offers- but we all get a little tired of the traditional wedding colors of whites and soft pinks. That is exactly why her own wedding featured tons of vibrant blooms and touches of color!

Laura & Michael exchanged vows in front of the insanely romantic Stonehouse Terrace fireplace which was dressed in wild greenery and two abundant displays of her flowers! The backdrop was complete once all of the candles were lit & tiny twinkle lights lit up the fireplace & surrounding trees. Throughout the grounds of San Ysidro Ranch you will find tons of petite vintage benches- which we utilized as the seating for their guests during the ceremony.

At dusk, the guests found their way into the Old Adobe where they each took their seats at this deep blue velvet draped table. Each place setting held a perfect magenta peony which held together a silk napkin. And lets just say that the bride knew what she was doing when she put together these centerpieces!

These abundant arrangements featured a stunning color palette of deep fuchsia peonies, garden roses, cafe au let dahlias & dripping clusters of grapes. The table also featured an impressive display of hurricanes and votives which made the space feel warm & inviting!

Needless to say it was an incredible honor to be included in helping our dear friend Laura plan her special day! She has gone above and beyond to help design all of the flower arrangements for each of my kid’s weddings & it was about time we were able to return the favor! This magical day would not have been possible without the support of the wonderful professional team that came along side Laura & Michael that day:

The Perfect Post Wedding Brunch

The Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club is the perfect post wedding brunch location. The majority of our clients are choosing to host multiple events for their wedding throughout the weekend. Typically we begin with a welcome party, then the rehearsal dinner, the wedding day, followed by a Sunday brunch to send off the bride and groom. When our clients decide to host a full weekend of wedding activities we encourage them to show their guests the different areas that Santa Barbara has to offer. We love doing a rehearsal dinner at a local down town restaurant near historic State Street, and a welcome party at a hotel or somewhere with an ocean view! When it comes to the post wedding brunch, we like to suggest doing something unique…  and a polo brunch is so much fun for all ages! Hosting a brunch or private party here offers a new experience for your guests and is something most people have never done before. By creating a beautiful atmosphere and bringing in some delicious catered food (for this event we used Roomforty Catering) your guests are free to relax, drink a mimosa and enjoy the polo match. A special thank you to Willa Kveta for the gorgeous images of this event and to Jackson Durham for creating the stunning flower arrangements!

Room Forty Tasting at Vibiana

Last week we were honored to be invited to a spectacular edible auditing luncheon with one of LA’s hottest new culinary operations. The event was hosted by Room Forty, a catering company without walls… And that is exactly what they are. We were so impressed with each of 9 courses we were served. The flavors, the presentation and the service was impeccable. We look forward to finding an opportunity to work together with these culinary masterminds.
The location for this event was The Vibiana, a historic Los Angeles cathedral that has been transformed into an wedding, event, and preforming arts venue. It is so rich with history and the detailing in the architecture made it incredibly unique. Our minds were overloaded with ideas for a future wedding here.
Bibb lettuces, pickled market vegetables, chèvre, house candied nuts, and a blonde raisin vinaigrette.
Heirloom tomatoes, house smoked burrata, balsamic caviar, with an opal basil vinaigrette.
Jidori chicken confit, brussel spouts, fingerling potato, and a white bean cassoulet.
Covina seabass, smoked soba noodle nest, dashi broth, and pho salad.
“Smokey Bobby Burns” bowmore legend whisky, carpano antica, beef jerky, benedictine.
Served with Prime braised beef short ribs, parsley root puree, baby vegetable, and braising jus.
