Our Design at the Luxe Linen Launch Event at Vibiana

Last year we were completely blown away by the beauty that took place at the Luxe Linen Launch event at Vibiana located in downtown Los Angeles. So its safe to say that when we were asked to design a space featuring one of Luxe Linen’s new tablecloths- we were thrilled and honored to be a part of such a fabulous event!

We began designing our display with Camellia Floral Design and we were thrilled to be using a color palette that we don’t often get to work with. Inspired by an alfresco dinner set in a romantic backyard of a Montecito estate- Revelry Event Designers assembled this stunning large wooden arbor where we suspended large chandeliers with soft wood beads & romantic peach colored chiffon drapery. Then Camille added her whimsical flowers in a way that looked as if they were growing throughout the space. Party Pleasers provided layers of seagrass rugs and their unique terra cotta and copper place settings to add the perfect finishing touches.

We’d like to extend an extra special thank you to the fabulous team of professionals who made this vision come to life! This includes: Camellia Floral Design, Revelry Event Design, Luxe Linens, Party Pleasers, Calligraphy Katrina, High Voltage Lighting, Vibiana, Rayce PR, Natura Macrame, and Brian Leahy for the absolutely gorgeous images of our design. We were beyond thrilled to be included in this fabulous event and were incredibly overwhelmed by the large attendance & sweet compliments about our design. Luxe Linen – Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of this magical evening.

Here is the beautiful video of the full event put together by Lin & Jirsa:

Lavender Wedding at Crossroads

Lauren and Kasey attended a wedding that we had designed for their good friends Missy & Josh (view their wedding here!) and once we got to know them, we knew they were going to be a lot of fun to work with! With spring in the air and fresh wildflowers all around us- we are looking back at this beautiful lavender wedding at Crossroads estate.

Lauren chose a stunning lace embellished gown with a striking low cut back and carried a fresh loose bouquet of garden roses, wispy greenery, and accents of lavender. Her bridesmaids donned long flowing lavender chiffon dresses and carried smaller versions of the brides bouquet!

When designing the ceremony space for their wedding, we did not want to take attention away from the enormous oak tree that stands tall in the background. Laura of Cody Floral Design brought in eight large ferns which we used to line down the aisle, then mixed in some of our large vintage lanterns to add height & variety. Later, we repurposed the ferns & lanterns along the band’s stage to soften the space!

Inside the barn at Crossroads we brought in a combination of round and long dining tables; some with exposed wood which were more Edison Style. Then we introduced a gorgeous embellished white linen overlay which we used for the cake & head table. Each of the wood tables featured lush arrangements of garden roses, ranunculus, dahlias, and wild greenery which spilled out of the arrangements and over the table’s edges.

We layered stacks of ornate white china at each place setting & finished the look with lovely cut crystal glassware from Town & Country!  We hope you enjoyed this post about Lauren & Kasey’s lavender wedding at Crossroads. We are excited to be working at Crossroads again this September and bringing even more beauty into that space!

“Sarah and Chase love any excuse to dress up, so they knew they wanted a black tie wedding from the start. When they took their super laid-back personalities and desire for tropical décor into consideration, they knew they needed a hand planning their dream wedding. Enter La Fete Weddings. The Santa Barbara wedding planning team executed Sarah and Chase’s wedding with style and grace, and even included fun reception details like an ice luge, a classic black and white palette, and tropical fronds as far as the eye can see. Johnny B Films and photographer Courtney Aaron captured every moment of Sarah and Chase’s wedding beautifully, including their regal ceremony on Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore‘s lawn – the same place Sarah’s parents were married 31 years ago!”

“Our colors were white, natural greenery, black and gold. I really wanted the greenery to be the standout feature with lots of white accents. However, I have seen so many all white weddings and didn’t just want to repeat that. Instead, we mixed in black and gold elements to make it feel slightly modern and give it a black tie feel.”

“I wanted a really romantic black tie wedding with a natural/tropic feel. Which when we were first talking about it, sounded so weird. But once we started picking our decor and our amazing florist sent inspiration images, it really started coming together. It was really hard to communicate at first exactly what we wanted, mostly because we had never planned a wedding before. What was most important was that the wedding felt fresh and unique and our amazing wedding planners, Kaitlin and Colette from La Fete Weddings worked with us for months and really nailed the theme in the end.”

“The pastor who married us also married my brother and is a very close family friend. It was so special to me because he has known me almost my entire life and made the ceremony so personal. We also had readings from the grooms sister and one of his childhood best friends. Finally, we chose to do traditional vows as well as write our own. And if you are on the fence about writing your own, I highly suggest doing it. It was so special and our guests loved our vows. We got compliments on them the whole night.”

“I am SUPER laid back. I knew I really wanted a cool vibe to the wedding, without it feeling like another shabby chic and blush wedding. I think one of the first things I told Kaitlin and Colette was that no pink (except the champagne!) would be allowed at the wedding. My family also spends a lot of time in Maui and I wanted to bring elements of that to the wedding as well, hence the tropical greenery. We decided on a black tie wedding mostly because we love dressing up and wanted the wedding to feel like a formal Southern California party. However, we are both super laid back so we knew we wanted it to be a party and not stuffy, and I think we achieved it!”

“I really wanted unique centerpieces, meaning, lots of greenery and mixing a natural esthetic with a black tie theme. I also knew I wanted lots of white and ethereal lighting”

Be patient and trust your wedding planners. If you choose to have one (which I cannot recommend enough- the stress they save on the day of alone is worth it), do your research and pick one with elements of their previous weddings you really love. We were so lucky because Kaitlin and Colette were so communicative and kept us on a timeline so we didn’t feel like we were doing everything at once. And trusting them to be creative when you cannot communicate exactly what you want really worked out for us.”

“The main dining room took my breath away when we walked in before our guests were shown in. It was everything I had dreamed of and more. The ice luge was also such a hit, the station was so elegant and the drinks were amazing.”

“We had a coconut chiffon cake with passion fruit mango creme cake an a dessert bar with lemon meringue tarts, tiramisu, cookies, sables and macaroons, red velvet cupcakes and Swedish creme puffs. Our signature drinks were a grapefruit basil martini, passionfruit jalapeño martini and old fashioned’s.”

“Our photographer was also a family friend (you’re probably seeing a theme here… we really had THE BEST vendors), and so we felt so comfortable with her. She also did our engagement pictures and I cannot say enough good things about her. She captured the evening perfectly and our guests LOVED her.”

Tim Lopez and Jenna Reeves Wedding on July 4th!

We are over-the-moon excited to finally share some of the gorgeous photos that we just got back from JKoe Photography of Tim Lopez and Jenna Reeves Wedding! As many of you know Tim Lopez is Colette’s son and Kaitlin’s brother so this was a very special time for our family and we were honored to help plan and design their special day.

The Plain White T’s Tim Lopez tied the knot with his fiancé Jenna Reeves in front of  an intimate gathering of family and friends at the Historical Museum in Santa Barbara on July 4th, 2015. The pair met on NBC’s reality dating show Ready For Love, where Tim knew Jenna was “the one” from the very beginning! Planning their wedding began with only one trip to Santa Barbara to tour the venue and pick out the specialty rentals from Town and Country Event Rentals. The rest of the planning was done with visuals, diagrams and phone calls with Colette & Kaitlin of La Fete Weddings!

Tim shared in an interview with People Magazine that “Jenna was no bridezilla while planning the wedding, and that extended to her dress selection. “I actually got my dress at Lunss,” she says. “I looked at a few boutique shops and found nothing that felt right. When I tried this one on, I had that moment where I looked in the mirror and saw a bride. The dress was relatively inexpensive as far as wedding dresses go but I wasn’t concerned with brand names, I just wanted to feel comfortable and beautiful when walking down the aisle toward him.” Tim also mentioned “Jenna and I didn’t want to abandon who we are when it came to the style and attire for our wedding — hence I wasn’t going to be caught dead in a tuxedo!”

The ceremony was designed to fit the old Spanish style of the Historical Museum which already has a little bit of a Texas flair. We decorated the aisle with a combination of large blue agave plants & oversized rustic star lanterns. Then the existing arbor was embellished with a natural linen fabric and then adorned with fresh green garlands and white flowers by Cody Floral Designs– The look was simple and made an absolutely stunning backdrop for the two of the them!

The couple decided to keep their special day low-key by bringing a little bit of Austin, Texas home to our native Santa Barbara. We brought in the Rasta Taco Cart along with Georgia’s Smokehouse (a local food truck)  to add a “hipster element” to the “Tex meets West” theme. The evening consisted of a free-floating party with lounge vignettes, dining tables, and who could forget- an enormous teepee. Guests were invited into the space and able to eat when they felt hungry, visit the bar when they were thirsty, and dance to the fantastic music of Stew in the Crew when they wanted. This created a relaxed atmosphere that didn’t feel to “structured or scheduled.” The overall design wasn’t all about the flowers but more about the overall feeling that Tim & Jenna wanted to create within the courtyard at the Historical Museum.

The lounge vignettes and tables were adorned with garlands of greenery and a more “hand-picked” organic looking flowers were placed on the tables with a touch of blue thisle- which Jenna loved!

The only elements that incorporated the Fourth of July were the large rustic star lanterns that lined both sides of the aisle and a large vintage American flag that Tim brought from their home in Texas which was used in some of their wedding portraits! The little flower girl, Keilani also carried around a small American flag that day for her photos but during the ceremony she dropped petals out of a small flower basket!

As the newlyweds entered the courtyard they were announced as “Mr. & Mrs. Tim and Jenna Lopez” and they worked their way to the center of the dance floor to share their first dance together to “Baby I’m Yours” by The Arctic Monkeys.

We surprised Jenna by having our dear friend Calligraphy Katrina decorate the top of the cake table by re-creating the wedding invitations that Jenna had designed herself. The table turned out so gorgeous and really carried the theme throughout the event! As you can see, Jenna was thrilled and the cake from Christine Dahl tasted just as amazing as it looked!
