Kids Helping Kids at the Granada Theatre

Our 2013 started off with helping this fantastic group of 107 students  from San Marcos High School.  Kids Helping Kids raises money to help support those in need both locally and abroad.  The theme this year was Light Up A Life!  When we were asked to be involved I instantly was so honored  and excited to see the hearts of these students wanting to give back to others.

La Fete helped design the stage, run the logistics of the design for the event and decorated the foyer entrance of the theatre.  One element we introduced really set the stage and the tone of the event.  We rented the LED cherry blossom trees that changed colors and mood throughout the event.  Especially during the concert performance from Brad Corrigan from Dispatch, and Switchfoot.  Each of the 107 students carried a votive onto the stage showing their involvement in lighting up a life this year.  It was simply  beautiful, as they walked into the Cold Play song called Fix You.   The students raised over $180,000 between the sponsors, donations, ticket sales, and silent and live auctions.

Other schools in California, and Denver are already modeling after Kids Helping Kids in their own schools.  They attended the Jan. 12th production at the Granada Theater this year, and are now excited about making this happen in their home towns.

WE cannot wait to hear who they will bring to Santa Barbara next year!
