La Fete Weddings featured in California Wedding Day Magazine La Fete Weddings

La Fete Weddings featured in California Wedding Day Magazine

Here at La Fete Weddings we are beyond thrilled to share that one of our weddings is featured in newest issue of California Wedding Day Magazine and it is officially on stands now! Make sure to pick up a copy for tons of gorgeous wedding inspiration.

We wanted to share a few of Alyson Magda’s beautiful images from the wedding feature:

Camellia Floral Design used deep shades of pinks, red, and magenta flowers to beautifully compliment the vintage pews that we placed in front of fountain for their ceremony/champagne blessing. The Bride & Groom recited their vows in this gorgeous terraced garden, and as soon as they had sealed the deal with a kiss, the fountain began to bubble as the guests raised their glasses to toast the newlyweds!

The floating style reception was held in a stunning clear tent with a variety of seating areas throughout the space. Including a mixture of lounge vignettes, dining tables, and indoor wood cabanas draped in flowers and romantic fabric. Various linens in shades of champagne, blush, and deep velvet merlot enhanced the floral centerpieces.

Staying true to their vision of a floating style reception, the couple opted for a sampling of food stations, including the “Cabo Hurricane” and “Football Game Day” among others, named for happenings on their path to the altar.

Inside a stunning glass atrium on the property we featured a dessert lovers dream. A dramatic seven tiered cake trimmed with gold embellishments sat atop a colorful bed of flowers, accompanied by cookies, tarts, macarons, and a custom doughnut wall!

A Lovely Tented Wedding at the Santa Barbara Polo Club 150 150 La Fete Weddings

A Lovely Tented Wedding at the Santa Barbara Polo Club

Maryemma Sikes And Andrew Warfield Wedding

We were so thrilled when our darling bride Memma told us she was interested in using bright colored flowers at her wedding & we knew that Louloudi Designs was the perfect florist to work with on this wedding at the Santa Barbara Polo Club!

The wedding day started with an afternoon ceremony at All Saints by the Sea, followed by an outdoor cocktail hour at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. Town & Country Rentals provided a large 4-sided bar which serviced both the cocktail hour and the main reception, then we cozied up the area with some outdoor lounge furniture + colorful throw pillows! After the cocktails and delicious tray passed hors d’oeuvres from Duo Catering had been consumed, the guests we welcomed into the garland draped canopy where each soft ivory table was dressed in different textures of linens and topped with abundant arrangements of hot pink, fuchsia, and soft yellow & orange flowers! The Bride and Groom made their way to the dance floor for their first dance together after being introduced into the space for the first time as Mr & Mrs. Later guests had the time of their lives while enjoying a perfect 2-course meal followed by TONS of dancing to the wonderful band provided by West Coast Music. We are so thankful we had Yvette Roman on our team to capture all the special moments and details from this wedding- She did such a remarkable job!!

Beautiful Tent Design for your Wedding Reception 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Beautiful Tent Design for your Wedding Reception

This mind-blowingly gorgeous wedding reception took place last summer and we think it is one of the most beautiful tent designs we have ever worked with. Revelry Event Designers worked side by side with Town and Country Event Rentals to create this remarkable tent with fabric draping. Images by Lighting transformed the reception as soon as the sun went down with their spectacular lighting! The chandeliers were dressed in tons of greenery and the florals on each table were stunning! Jackson Durham hand glued each tiny lambs ear leaf onto the vases on the head table, which was incredibly unique and really made that table feel special! We chose 6 different table linens that all worked together in the same color palette. Some tables were long 16-foot feasting tables & others were beautiful wooden dining tables mixed in with round & square tables with linens. This created a beautiful atmosphere that set each table apart from the next, yet was still very pleasing to the eye. The magnificent cake was designed and decorated by Sweet & Saucy Shop and Roomforty provided the delicious catering. We are extremely thankful to Willa Kveta Photography for capturing these extraordinary images from this day! We hope you enjoy this gorgeous event and that it inspires you with a beautiful tent design for your wedding reception!

We are thrilled to share this wedding as inspiration for a beautiful tent design for your wedding reception and hope you enjoyed all the details!

Pink and Green Bridal Luncheon at the Country Club 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Pink and Green Bridal Luncheon at the Country Club

Planning a bridal luncheon during your wedding weekend is always a MUST! We helped our clients design this stunning and girly affair at the Birnam Wood Country Club, and it could not have turned out more perfect. The bride loved kate spade and we thought the pink and green bridal luncheon would fit her just right. There is something very special about gathering together with the your closest women in your life to reflect and share the joy of the bride to be!

When hosting a bridal luncheon, do not be intimidated by the decor or the menu. For this one we simply upgraded the linens & chairs and used simple bud vases with bright pops of pink and green. The guests were passed champagne  (of course!) and then served a nice refreshing salad!

This is also the perfect time to pass out gifts to your bridesmaids! The day of the wedding can be hectic with all of your bridesmaids trying to get ready. We find this is the perfect time to share your heart with your bridesmaids and present them their gifts! Thank you so much Willa Kveta Photography for capturing the beauty of this event so well! The lovely blooms were created by Jackson Durham.

La Fete’s Annual Christmas Tea 2013 150 150 La Fete Weddings

La Fete’s Annual Christmas Tea 2013

Over the past few years our annual Christmas Tea has evolved. What once began as a much larger party with around 12-15 women, has downsized into designing an elegant table top for a photo shoot, then we are able to sit down with about 6 of our dearest friends in the industry to reflect on what the year has brought us. The theme for this year’s tea was God’s goodness. We each shared how God has blessed us this past year and laughed over some of our favorite Christmas memories. The christmas tea has become an event that each of us look forward to each year. It is a place where we can share our hearts and be blessed by each others company. This year we designed our table around this fabulous blue linen by La Tavola. We fell in love with the color and thought we could really dress it up with TONS of textured candles. We also found the perfect chargers from BBJ Linens to complete the look! We added in the sleek and stylish ghost chairs from Town & Country, which accented all of the glass candlesticks and glassware and created a more modern look. Thank you so much to our dear friend Stephanie Hogue for taking these beautiful pictures for us this year!

We made homemade fresh fruit tarts for each guest, along with our signature heart shaped scones we make every year!

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and successful 2014,

With love from Colette & Kaitlin at La Fete Weddings!

Top 5 Reasons Every Bride Should do a Pre-Bridal Photo Shoot 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Top 5 Reasons Every Bride Should do a Pre-Bridal Photo Shoot

This year I have the unique experience of being both a bride, and  a wedding planner. Most people thought I was probably going crazy juggling not only my own wedding, but about 8 others as well… But I really feel like I have a new appreciation for what each of our brides are going through. Today I think I will just focus on one area where I feel all brides can benefit from this advice- Top 5 reasons EVERY bride should do a pre-bridal photo shoot.

When a dear friend of ours Melissa Musgrove offered her help with this I knew I couldn’t pass on this opportunity, and I am so glad I did this! I had the best time with my mom and Melissa sipping champagne, getting into my dress, and enjoying each others company. So based on my own experience here are my thoughts on why a pre-bridal photo shoot is a necessity for every bride!

1) The comfort of knowing exactly what you will look like in your wedding dress a few days before your wedding. Most of the time we suggest that our brides have their hair and make up trial done on the day that they take their engagement photos. While we still stand behind that suggestion (since most photographers will appreciate that you had professional hair and make up done for those pictures) it is still difficult to imagine what you are going to look like with your wedding dress on. I was incredibly relieved to know how my hair, make up, dress, shoes, and accessories all worked together- it was like a dress rehearsal before the big day.

 2) You will find areas of your dress that still need altering. When you go in for your dress fittings, you only spend about 20-30 minutes max in you gown, and most of that time is spent standing in front of the mirror while your seamstress pins the tiny details & imperfections that her eye notices. It is a completely different experience being in your dress for about 2-3 hours. I moved in the dress, sat down, layed across the bed, and began to notice different areas where the dress was gathering incorrectly, or falling down a little, and tiny areas where the lace was behaving strangely. I was so thankful that I still had a final fitting where I could address these issues because they would have driven me crazy on the day of my wedding.

 3) You will feel more relaxed and comfortable on the morning of your wedding knowing that the photographer has already captured plenty of beautiful portraits of you. The morning of my wedding I didn’t feel like there was as much pressure on photos since I had already gotten a lot of them out of the way. This is also a great way to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera, since that will  happen a lot on your big day!

4) Different Backgrounds/Change of scenery. Most of the time our brides get dressed and ready in their Santa Barbara hotel room which may not always be the the most glamourous background for photos. The pre-bridal shoot will give your photographer the opportunity to take your photos in either a studio, or a private outdoor setting that allows the photographer to control both the lighting and background.

5) Get creative & use the images. We like to recommend that our brides take a moment aside with your dad before he walks you down the aisle. This is the perfect time to give him a beautiful picture of you in your dress with a card expressing how much he means to you. You could do the same for your mother, grandparents, etc. This is a nice way to share your feelings for that special person and create a nice keepsake for them to remember your wedding.

Thank you so much Melissa Musgrove Photography for capturing a time and a memory that I will never forget. You created beautiful images that mean so much to me, my husband, and my parents. You are a blessing and a dear friend of ours and I really can’t thank you enough for the great experience you gave me!

Very special thank you to Cody Floral Design as well for designing the GORGEOUS bouquet for me that day as well! It was absolutely perfect and so great to have as a prop that day!

Jill and Josh’s Santa Barbara Estate Wedding 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Jill and Josh’s Santa Barbara Estate Wedding

We met and within 4 months we organized and designed this intimate family style tuscan Santa Barbara estate wedding!

Jill had amazing taste and wanted many items personal and custom.  We found Archive rentals and they made our tables and provided the different china patterns for each of the tables.  Good Gracious provided the delicious food stations and served the guests table side with a gorgeous family style platters.
Her father helped with the making of her cake, since he had made her birthday cakes for her as a child.  It was the most beautiful Summer day at the Santa Barbara estate on the ocean called Terra Bella!  The guests mingled wine tasted and enjoyed the fun music provided by Dwight Kennedy.  Josh is a singer/ songwriter, and instead of dancing with his bride he took the stage and sang the song “All Shook Up” to her, which as you can see she loved!
Thank you Joe Bussink for the amazing images of this fun event, we did sneak a few in of our own we shot that day too.
