Our Design at the Luxe Linen Launch Event at Vibiana

Our Design at the Luxe Linen Launch Event at Vibiana 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Last year we were completely blown away by the beauty that took place at the Luxe Linen Launch event at Vibiana located in downtown Los Angeles. So its safe to say that when we were asked to design a space featuring one of Luxe Linen’s new tablecloths- we were thrilled and honored to be a part of such a fabulous event!

We began designing our display with Camellia Floral Design and we were thrilled to be using a color palette that we don’t often get to work with. Inspired by an alfresco dinner set in a romantic backyard of a Montecito estate- Revelry Event Designers assembled this stunning large wooden arbor where we suspended large chandeliers with soft wood beads & romantic peach colored chiffon drapery. Then Camille added her whimsical flowers in a way that looked as if they were growing throughout the space. Party Pleasers provided layers of seagrass rugs and their unique terra cotta and copper place settings to add the perfect finishing touches.

We’d like to extend an extra special thank you to the fabulous team of professionals who made this vision come to life! This includes: Camellia Floral Design, Revelry Event Design, Luxe Linens, Party Pleasers, Calligraphy Katrina, High Voltage Lighting, Vibiana, Rayce PR, Natura Macrame, and Brian Leahy for the absolutely gorgeous images of our design. We were beyond thrilled to be included in this fabulous event and were incredibly overwhelmed by the large attendance & sweet compliments about our design. Luxe Linen – Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of this magical evening.

Here is the beautiful video of the full event put together by Lin & Jirsa:

La Fete Weddings featured in California Wedding Day Magazine La Fete Weddings

Here at La Fete Weddings we are beyond thrilled to share that one of our weddings is featured in newest issue of California Wedding Day Magazine and it is officially on stands now! Make sure to pick up a copy for tons of gorgeous wedding inspiration.

We wanted to share a few of Alyson Magda’s beautiful images from the wedding feature:

Camellia Floral Design used deep shades of pinks, red, and magenta flowers to beautifully compliment the vintage pews that we placed in front of fountain for their ceremony/champagne blessing. The Bride & Groom recited their vows in this gorgeous terraced garden, and as soon as they had sealed the deal with a kiss, the fountain began to bubble as the guests raised their glasses to toast the newlyweds!

The floating style reception was held in a stunning clear tent with a variety of seating areas throughout the space. Including a mixture of lounge vignettes, dining tables, and indoor wood cabanas draped in flowers and romantic fabric. Various linens in shades of champagne, blush, and deep velvet merlot enhanced the floral centerpieces.

Staying true to their vision of a floating style reception, the couple opted for a sampling of food stations, including the “Cabo Hurricane” and “Football Game Day” among others, named for happenings on their path to the altar.

Inside a stunning glass atrium on the property we featured a dessert lovers dream. A dramatic seven tiered cake trimmed with gold embellishments sat atop a colorful bed of flowers, accompanied by cookies, tarts, macarons, and a custom doughnut wall!

Spanish Inspired Wedding at the Bacara Resort

Spanish Inspired Wedding at the Bacara Resort 150 150 La Fete Weddings

When we began planning Erica & Dan’s wedding at the Bacara Resort, we knew we wanted to create an atmosphere that not only matched the Spanish architecture of the environment, but also appealed the Bride & Groom’s personal style. We were thrilled when Erica mentioned that not only did she love flowers, she loves color! We immediately directed her to our friend Michael from Louloudi Designs who is extremely talented at bringing a brides floral visions to reality!

Mi Belle Photography expertly captured all the beautiful little details from this Spanish Inspired wedding at the Bacara Resort, and we just love these incredibly intimate moments she captured of our Bride & Groom as they walked  along the romantic pathways of the property!

This was our first opportunity to work with Lele Patisserie– a new specialty wedding cake baker in Santa Barbara- and I have to say that this wedding cake was the most delicious tres leches cake I have ever tasted! It even had fresh strawberries inside!

Sending a special thank you out to our incredible team of professionals who helped this wedding run so smoothly: Mi Belle Photography, Louloudi Designs, BBJ Chargers, Ian at Red Shoe DJ, The Bacara Resort, Artisan Productions, SPARK, Lele Patisserie, Limousine Link, and TEAM Hair & Make up!

Jenna Reeves + Tim Lopez’s Rehearsal Dinner

Jenna Reeves + Tim Lopez’s Rehearsal Dinner 150 150 La Fete Weddings

When we are working with our clients on the overall design of their weddings, we are often limited to the color schemes and vision of our brides & grooms.  So when we were given the opportunity to plan something for our own family wedding- we opted for COLOR! Jenna Reeves + Tim Lopez’s Rehearsal Dinner was held at the space that runs along the side of Duo’s catering kitchen- also known as “The Alley.” They chose Duo Catering to create their fantastic dinner menu and they both fell in love with the idea of a long table running down the alley with nothing but the raw concrete walls as a backdrop! We started our design process after meeting Gretchen of Otis & Pearl– an exquisite vintage tableware rental company- and we knew we needed to use her cut crystal stemware and white & gold collection of mismatched vintage plates! From there, we decided to use deep wedgwood blue linens & napkins from La Tavola, and to top it all off with super bright sunset toned flower arrangements from Louloudi Designs. We were also thrilled that we would be able to use taper candles since that is a luxury we typically do not have in Santa Barbara. We teamed up with Town and Country Rentals to section off The Alley with their Edison Slatted Wood Walls and finished the look with their Edison rusty steel chairs! Our dear friend Melissa Musgrove dedicated her Friday evening to taking these stunning photos of the design for us as well as capturing some really beautiful memories of the emotional toasts and overwhelming joy that filled that space!

The Happy Couple!

Duo’s food was nothing short of amazing (as usual)- Pictured above is their Seared California Halibut, with a summer gazpacho vinaigrette, with fennel seeds & almonds over brown rice & baby spinach.

Modern Wedding at The El Encanto

Modern Wedding at The El Encanto 150 150 La Fete Weddings

The El Encanto is one of the most breathtaking locations to hold a wedding. With their incredibly unique ceremony garden which surrounds the lily pond, the photo opportunities are endless, and the views of Santa Barbara are spectacular. Its no wonder our bride Kimberly fell in love with it when we first toured the property (with hard hats) before the hotel had officially re-opened!

Kimberly and Paul planned their modern wedding at the El Encanto all the way from Korea! We actually only met with Paul once & Kimberly twice. They had simple and sophisticated taste, and really wanted to incorporate  lots of water elements along with the texture of fish scales. All of the paper products and invitations were custom designed and each one was handmade by the Groom (aside from the lazer cutting which was done in Korea). The textures of the linens brought in the fish-scale patterns and textures and the unique floral arrangements from NLC Productions tied everything together perfectly. We also had a lot of fun creating the water table filled with gold fish for the escort card display! The day was beautifully captured by the talented Ashleigh Taylor Photography who never disappoints!

Heartstone Ranch Wedding

Heartstone Ranch Wedding 150 150 La Fete Weddings

It does not get much better than a Heartstone Ranch wedding, especially when your bride and groom are absolutely adorable! I had the pleasure of helping Brittany and Ryan plan their big day and the wedding turned out so gorgeous. Brittany took on a lot of the DIY work and in the end we created an event that was spectacularly detailed and absolutely perfect. Heartstone Ranch is located in Carpinteria California and is a spectacular place to have a wedding. The grounds are very well kept and the photo opportunities are endless. The bride wore this stunning Vera Wang gown which fit her perfectly, and her bridesmaids wore navy knee-length dresses which popped with the color of the bouquets. Nick from Priscila Valentina captured every moment of this day with such a great eye for detail. Brittany decided to do a Quilt station in lieu  of a guestbook, along with tiny jars of Heartstone Ranch honey and homemade jam for favors. To see more pictures from this wedding click here!

Spanish Colonial Inspired Wedding

Spanish Colonial Inspired Wedding 150 150 La Fete Weddings

When we began working with Christian and Amanda on the plans for their wedding, they started by showing us their Save the Date. Christian had found the most stunning cartouche that he used to border the card. We loved the design and began brainstorming about the different ways we could use that to brand their event. The cartouche was used throughout the invitations, programs, favors, menus, and table numbers. The spanish colonial inspired wedding was held in Christian’s parents backyard located in Montecito.

Over the course of 4 days we built a hardwood subfloor and canopy that completely transformed the space. We illuminated the dance floor with amber colored bulbs mixed with ivory papel picados which gently swayed in the breeze. We were very excited to be the first to use Town & Country Event Rentals’ new Encanto Rustic Chandeliers, which perfectly fit the theme. Roomforty customized a menu of spanish paella, short ribs, and a generous amount of beautifully presented hors d’oeuvres. Their attention to detail and innovative displays are what set them apart from other caterers!

Laura Sangas of Cody Floral Design never disappoints. She designed the vibrant and abundant flowers and mixed in some unique wrought iron pieces to indulge the Spanish theme. This was our first opportunity to work with Mi Belle Photography and it will certainly not be the last. Michelle was such a joy to work with and the images she captured of this event really blew us away.

Ambient Event Design helped to keep the party alive at night with stunning amber uplighting and dramatic fabric draping, and Stew and the Crew kept the guests dancing all night!

Thanksgiving Decorations!

Thanksgiving Decorations! 150 150 La Fete Weddings

One of our favorite places to shop for holiday decor is Pottery Barn.  They always have the most wonderful selection of thanksgiving decorations that are so inspiring! So today I put together a little sampling of the way we LOVE to decorate our home and to share some tips on how to set a beautiful thanksgiving table!

I also wanted to share a Thanksgiving turkey stuffing recipe we stumbled upon last year that we absolutely love:

  • 1 pound mild bulk breakfast sausage
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups sliced leeks, white and pale green parts only, cleaned well (about 2 large leeks)
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup chopped celery with leaves
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 cup dried cranberries, rehydrated in boiling water for 15 minutes and drained
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage leaves
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
  • 6 cups boxed bread cubes (croutons)
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves
  • 2 to 3 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Saute the sausage in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through, crumbling coarsely with the back of a spoon, about 10 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the sausage and drippings to a large bowl. Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium-high heat. Add the leeks, apples, celery and poultry seasoning to the skillet and saute until the leeks are soft, about 8 minutes. Mix in the drained cranberries, sage and rosemary. Add the mixture to the sausage, then mix in the croutons and parsley. Next add the chicken stock a little at a time until the stuffing is very moist. Be sure not to overdo it; it shouldn’t be mushy. Season with salt and pepper. Place in a casserole dish. (The stuffing can be made to this point 2 days before Thanksgiving, refrigerated.)

Bake in a 14-inch oval or 9 by 13-inch rectangular casserole dish and place, uncovered, in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes, until the top is crispy and the center piping hot. Remove and serve immediately.

*Cook’s Note: If stuffing a turkey, the stuffing must be cold before being placed in the bird.
