Spanish Colonial Inspired Wedding

Spanish Colonial Inspired Wedding 150 150 La Fete Weddings

When we began working with Christian and Amanda on the plans for their wedding, they started by showing us their Save the Date. Christian had found the most stunning cartouche that he used to border the card. We loved the design and began brainstorming about the different ways we could use that to brand their event. The cartouche was used throughout the invitations, programs, favors, menus, and table numbers. The spanish colonial inspired wedding was held in Christian’s parents backyard located in Montecito.

Over the course of 4 days we built a hardwood subfloor and canopy that completely transformed the space. We illuminated the dance floor with amber colored bulbs mixed with ivory papel picados which gently swayed in the breeze. We were very excited to be the first to use Town & Country Event Rentals’ new Encanto Rustic Chandeliers, which perfectly fit the theme. Roomforty customized a menu of spanish paella, short ribs, and a generous amount of beautifully presented hors d’oeuvres. Their attention to detail and innovative displays are what set them apart from other caterers!

Laura Sangas of Cody Floral Design never disappoints. She designed the vibrant and abundant flowers and mixed in some unique wrought iron pieces to indulge the Spanish theme. This was our first opportunity to work with Mi Belle Photography and it will certainly not be the last. Michelle was such a joy to work with and the images she captured of this event really blew us away.

Ambient Event Design helped to keep the party alive at night with stunning amber uplighting and dramatic fabric draping, and Stew and the Crew kept the guests dancing all night!

Blush Pink Wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch

Blush Pink Wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Working with Tina and Jonathan was so much fun for us!  They were filled with ideas and their love for each other was so apparent.  When we first met they shared their story of  securing a heart shaped lock onto the famous chain link fence of the Pont des Arts on Lover’s Bridge in Paris. We began deigning their event with the heart shape wax seal on their invitations, and carried the design through to the petal design on the aisle of their ceremony.  We also used gorgeous heart shaped handmade soaps, which were boxed and doubled as an escort and favor.  Jonathan bought Tina a beautiful heart shaped locket as a gift for her to wear on their wedding day.  We loved their adorable sense of humor and their love for each other  really shows in the images.   We wish Tina and Jonathan a lifetime of happiness and we were so honored to be a part of such a special day.

Tina & Jonathan’s blush pink and gold wedding was held at the San Ysidro Ranch.  The stunning images were captured by  Jessica Lewis Photography.  It was so wonderful to re-live this day through your gorgeous photos!   Camilla Svensson Burns created the lovely flower arrangements and ceremony decor. Lazaro Press designed the most beautiful invitation suite with tea-stained doilies and gold wax seals with their heart design, and Ambient Event Design set the mood with their lighting. Thank you to everyone involved, including Dwight Kennedy, Barbra Mousouris, and Classic Party Rentals,  you  helped make this wedding so spectacular and each one of you was a dream to work with.

Alfresco Wedding at Villa Sevillano

Alfresco Wedding at Villa Sevillano 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Working with Meghan and Stan was such a joy!  She had a very distinct vision for her wedding day, and completely trusted us to make that dream come to life. After a few meetings with her we had her  wedding completely dialed in and she just needed to sit back and enjoy the process! When you hold a wedding at Villa Sevillano, the estate is so incredibly gorgeous already, you just have to work with the style of the home . Meghan LOVED burlap and white, and we had so much fun putting together all of the little details!

We brought in Tricia Fountaine to design the flower arrangements and she blew us away! Each arrangement was abundant and exactly the way we had envisioned them! Below is a shot of her stunning bouquet:

The worlds most adorable ring bearer assisted us by passing out fans to the guests before they sat down for the ceremony.

When it comes to food, Duo Catering knows what’s best. From signature drinks, to tray passed hors d’oeuvres, each bite is always delicious!

Absolutely gorgeous cake design made by Christine Dahl to match the invitations that were sent out.

These beautiful photos were taken by the talented Stephanie Hogue. Thank you for always capturing every little detail for us and making our brides and grooms look so stunning! LBPS created custom fabric draped cabanas for the lounges on either side of the dance floor which added so much drama to the space. We could not have done this event without the gorgeous rentals from Town and Country, your team is always so helpful and make each event so unique and beautiful!  And a big thank you to Stellar Groove and Dwight Kennedy Productions for keeping that dance floor packed all night!

Safari Wedding

Safari Wedding 150 150 La Fete Weddings

Zoe and Eric were married in New York City a month before this spectacular affair, and then they escaped for a 1 month African Safari. When we began designing their west coast celebration we thought “Why not bring your African Safari back to Santa Barbara?” Our minds raced with possibilities and when they agreed to bring in Stanley the Giraffe and Racer the Zebra, we couldn’t wait for this day to come! This event took place in Eric’s parent’s backyard in Montecito, a stunning Italian styled villa with the most incredible oak tree grove we have ever seen.

As the guests arrived they were greeted by Stanley, then driven in safari dressed golf carts where Racer was waiting for them at the top of the driveway. Then the guests enjoyed incredible hors d’oeuvres and cocktails created by Duo Catering. Laura Sangas of Cody Floral Design created these killer flower arrangements and she said had so much fun playing with leather and feathers on all of the little details.  Town & Country Event Rentals built a plank wood subfloor and then Ambient created the beautiful fabric draping and lighting.

The Bride and Groom spent hours hand drawing each of the table numbers. Such a creative couple and a very personal touch!

African Drummers dressed in traditional attire lead the guests from cocktail hour down the reception canopy.

This was a fantastic way to set the tone for the evening.

As soon as we had all of the guests on the dance floor we brought out the gorilla. This was a surprise to the Bride and Groom and such a fun way to end the evening! A special thank you to Melissa Musgrove Photography and Helena Kubicka De Braganca for capturing the stunning details of this safari wedding and creating last memories for this wonderful family. We were incredibly honored to be included in such a unique and festive event!

Santa Barbara Historical Museum Wedding

Santa Barbara Historical Museum Wedding 150 150 La Fete Weddings
We were honored to help Samantha and Brooks plan their lovely wedding at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. They were surrounded by so much love coming from their closest friends and family! We would like to extend a huge thank you and to the photographer: Ashleigh Taylor. She captured every detail and emotion perfectly! We would also like to share that we worked with an incredible new local company, Simply Bouquets. They are perfect for the DIY bride who would like to create her own centerpieces, and then Jennifer & Claudia create the incredible bouquets, and boutonnières! Such a genius idea and the bride was so thrilled with their work!  Pure Joy Catering did a wonderful job working with the spanish themed menu and their displays were simply perfect.

Oceanfront Bliss at the DoubleTree

Oceanfront Bliss at the DoubleTree 150 150 La Fete Weddings
I love it when couples trust us and go with some of the ideas we come up with from the design and colors to the intimate details.  JJ and Joe were so fun to work with~
On this wedding we started with wanting to bring the color of the Pacific Ocean into the plaza at the Fess Parkers Doubletree.  We chose a beautiful teal blue colored linen with two different elegant textures and iridescence. The mocha fabric overhead added the soft romantic feeling and provided some shade for the guests from the Summer sun. After dark the rod iron candle chandeliers were the perfect touch.
JJ and Joe met at a club downtown, and so we decided how fun it would be to put the whole wedding party and their dates/spouses at a bar height table with stools.  The flowers were to be romantic and fluffy with gardenia’s one of JJ’s favorite flowers.  The Church Our Lady of  Mt. Carmel was the perfect setting for their intimate ceremony.
The McCleod tartan is yellow, black with a touch of red~ so with JJ being a school teacher we decided how fun it would be to do escort/favors with the double stick tape, which had exactly their McCleod tartan pattern on it, This design was used on their programs and grooms and groomsmen’s ties and pocket squares.  We also hired a bagpiper to play at the end of the recessional for them.

They danced and had the best night ever on the perfect Summer night in the Plaza in Santa Barbara.

All photography by bb-photography  Thank you Brian and Brady for capturing another beautiful day for our clients~

Congratulations JJ and Joe~

San Ysidro Ranch-Romantic Elegance-

San Ysidro Ranch-Romantic Elegance- 150 150 La Fete Weddings

I met Michelle and her Mother one afternoon last March, and we instantly connected.  They hired me on the spot, and within 5 months we planned this wedding with gorgeous details from start to finish.  What I loved about working with this client is her excitement and trust throughout the process of her planning her big day with us.  Once I saw her gorgeous wedding gown the inspiration began.
We wanted a soft palate that would match the elegance and sophistication of her dress, yet  go with the casual elegance of the San Ysidro Ranch and style of their upper garden. We had 218 guests attend and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.  I think the images which Boyd Harris captured for us will give you and idea of why this bride said “It’s Stunning, it’s more than I ever imagined it’s just like a Fairy Tale”.  The upper garden at the San Ysidro Ranch has gorgeous mountain and  beautiful ocean views which were the perfect back drop for this celebration.

Michelle carried a delicate hankercheif  that was also worn by her as a baby bonnet.  This hanky her mother had saved until her wedding day.  In Memory of  her Grandmother she used her cameo pin.

The programs each opened up to reveal the order of the ceremony and the wedding party and family.  On the back was a velum envelope filled with petals for each guest to toss after the ceremony.

The upper garden at the Ranch~ We embellished the trellis’ with fabric and lighting to add elegance to the garden and to compliment the head table canopy.

The escort/boxes were filled with lavender buds…they smelled wonderful!

I rented a golf cart and driving them to the upper garden was such a highlight of my day.  Michelle and Michael were so excited!

The pastry chef at the San Ysidro Ranch did such an amazing job decorating the cake to match the monique linens.  Congratulations’ Michelle and Michael!  xoxo

Hot New Color Trend: Lavender, Pewter and Eggplant Purple

Hot New Color Trend: Lavender, Pewter and Eggplant Purple 150 150 La Fete Weddings

We are featuring another beautiful wedding at the Four Seasons Biltmore today.

Lindsay and Brian were a delight to work with.  Lindsay knew exactly what she wanted and we were able to capture her vision.  She loved everything romantic, classic and vintage.  From the linens, programs, escort cards to the table tops filled with crystal candle sticks and mercury glass centerpieces.   The ceremony structure in the garden with the fabric over head was beautiful as the sun was setting on her ceremony last October.  I loved the colors especially against the bridesmaids fawn colored dresses.  The two families joined together and had the best time dining, dancing and enjoying the evening together.
Special thanks to a great team we worked with that day:
Ambient Event Design, lighting and ceremony structure.
Cody Floral Design, flowers and candle decor

We had a review posted lately~Thank you Larry from Music by Bonnie for your kind words.

I am a DJ and have worked with many coordinators over the years. Kaitlin Lopez is one of the very best. Her talent and professionalism are far beyond her years. I worked with her last weekend and she managed the wedding expertly. She kept all staff on track with a detailed timeline and her wonderfully calm demeanor. The guests were thrilled with this event. Anyone planning their wedding will be in great hands with Kaitlin and La Fete.
